Spring Term News:

Welcome to our new class page!

We are excited about all of the learning opportunities we will share with the children this term. Please find below learning for our core subject areas:

In English, we are reading 'The Finger Eater' by Dick King Smith which will result in an exciting writing opportunity for the children to create an alternative chapter. The main character is a troll called 'Ulf' who has a nasty habit of eating fingers!  The children have already created their own Wanted Posters:

In Maths, we will continue to consolidate our knowledge of place value and number. We will also be exploring multiplication and division. Please encourage your child to keep practising their times tables. Please also refer to our Maths Page for some top tips for learning. In Year 4, we will be preparing your children for their multiplication check which will take place in June (we will be practising regularly to ensure the children are fully prepared). Please don't forget to practise on TT Rockstars - more competitions will be coming shortly.

In Science, we will be looking at completing our unit on Changing State before starting Living Things & Their Habitats and we can't wait to investigate our own Forest School area (I have already seen a muntjac and fawn this week!)

Of course, the children will be learning new knowledge in each subject, and we will aim to go on as many exciting trips as possible to broaden the children's knowledge. Communication to parents will predominantly take place on Class Dojo and any exciting pictures of the children in school will be uploaded to the class story. If you are not yet signed up to Class Dojo please speak to a member of the Class 2 team about joining.

A reminder that we have class assemblies this term.  Please see below for dates and times:

Announcement: Wednesday 1st February Assembly has been moved to Tuesday 7th February

Many thanks
