Disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs make good progress because of the support from well-trained staff. Ofsted 2013

    • Family Lives

Family Lives now has a live chat feature. This will enable families access to free, professional support over the internet at any time that suits them. The link below takes families directly to a worker who provides ‘wrap around’ support particularly useful when other support is not available such as evenings, weekends and school holidays.

    • The Baldock Consortium

Sandon JMI School is a member of a network of local schools. Our ‘hub school’ is Knights Templar in Baldock, which the majority of our children attend when they leave school.

The consortium is hugely beneficial and gives us the chance to join in activities such as Inter-Village Sports.

    • Friends of Sandon School (FOSS)

FOSS are a group of parents, staff and friends who arrange the fundraising events which take place over the school year.

Every year the Friends Of Sandon School play a pivotal role raising funds that pay for such items as:

      • Computers
      • Swimming
      • Playground Equipment
      • Educational Equipment
      • Coaches for School Trips

Without FOSS parents would have the added expense of these activities, so it is important that new ideas are forthcoming and that there is input from as many people as possible.

Everyone is welcome at FOSS meetings, details of which are posted regularly on the school notice board.

For information on events or to volunteer your services or ideas please contact any of the following via the school.
      Jo Fraser – Chair
      Nicola Hornblow – Treasurer
      Jacqui Bungay – Secretary

FOSS can now be contacted by email:

       FOSS Committee Vacancies

We are still looking to fill the posts of Chair and Secretary of FOSS.

If you are a Mum, Dad or Grandparent who is interested in taking on one of these roles and want to know more please talk to Jo, TA in Class 2, ( or Jacqui (

Neither role would take up a lot of your time. You only have to commit to attend FOSS meetings which are held just once every half-term. Both Jo and Jacqui are working Mums and have been able to fit the roles into their busy schedules.
